' God Told Me She Wouldn’t Suffer Burn' Says Prophet Who Sets Church Member Ablaze

Pandemonium was the order of the day as a prophet (name withheld) of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) on Unity Street in Abule-Egba, Lagos, on Sunday, January 17, reportedly set a female member ablaze during church service because God told him she would not suffer burn.
According to The Nation, the prophet claimed to have gotten a revelation from God; adding that God was in their midst and that if the woman – who is currently lying critically ill in the hospital – was set ablaze, she would not suffer burn.

The victim, simply identified as Madam Bosede, said “Our prophet said the spirit of God whispered to him that I would not burn if he sets me on fire. When I came out, they poured kerosene on my body and set me ablaze. But, unfortunately, I was burnt beyond recognition and before the other church members could get water, the deed had already been done.”
When contacted the prophet said, “I heard the voice clearly, but I don’t know what happened after we set fire on her. God has been speaking to me since and it has been working, so I wonder why now”
Since the incident occurred, some members of the church have left, doubting their prophet’s credibility, they stated that: “We cannot worship here again, who knows who the spirit will ask him to burn next.”
