#ElClassico: Barcelona Trash Real Madrid 4-0

It was a disappointing El Classico even for Barcelona fans because Real Madrid simply did not come to the party. Rafa Benitez’s side welcomed Modric and Benzema back into the team but the 10 time European champions looked second best in every department and can have no complaints about the final scoreline.
With Lionel Messi watching from the bench, Barcelona started the brighter of the two sides and made their superiority count after just 11 minutes after a beautiful interchange allowed Sergi Roberto to slip Suarez through, allowing the Uruguayan to slot the ball past Navas to make it 1-0. Real Madrid struggled to get any kind of rhythm going all through and in the 39th minute, Neymar made it 2-0 after beating the offside trap and finishing under Navas after he was released by Iniesta after Suarez had robbed Modric in midfield. Real Madrid were lucky to go into the break only two goals down. 8 minutes after the restart, Neymar and Iniesta combined brilliantly outside the box as Neymar set up Iniesta with a bckheel and the Spaniard’s thumping shot left Real Madrid players dejected as it hit the back of the net. Luis Enrique then threw in Messi to get in on the act and the Argentine almost did as his shot was blocked by Varane. There was an air of inevitability about the fourth goal as Alba flicked the ball through to Suarez who finished with ease to make it 4-0. Things went from bad to worse for Real Madrid as Isco who was lively after coming on for James was given his marching orders for kicking out at Alba.
It is definitely not a good day to be a Real Madrid fan considering that this match was played at the Santiago Bernabeu
