Ashley Cole is not yet sure to move from Roma to the LA Galaxy,
despite an official from the American club being quoted as saying a deal
was “close”.
A formal statement regarding the arrival of the
former England international was said to be approaching, according to an
unnamed Galaxy official quoted in the Los Angeles Times.
Galaxy
coach and general manager Bruce Arena also added fuel to the fire by
confirming he was in the process of strengthening the club’s squad.
“I would anticipate that we’ll add three or four players to our
roster,” Arena said. “There are a lot of factors on why players come to
our team as opposed to others.”
“The Galaxy have a good
reputation. Our players from Europe that have played here or are playing
here are good spokespersons for our club.”

Steve Parish: I Wouldn’t Stop Alan Pardew From Joining Real Madrid
Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish wants Alan Pardew to stay at
the club for the foreseeable future, but says he wouldn’t stop him from
joining Real Madrid.
He told BBC Radio 5 live: “We want Alan to stay at the club a very long time. But who knows what will happen, if Real Madrid want Alan Pardew then I’m sure we wouldn’t stand in his way.
“Everyone wants to get to the best point they can in their career but I know right now that Alan is very happy here.”
“He’s not thinking about anything other than being here, we’re not thinking about anything else, and if something comes up because we’re very successful what can we do about it? We’ll have to cross that bridge at the time.”

Sam Allardyce: “Rooney Rule” Should Be Introduced To English Football
Sunderland coach Sam Allardyce has called for the introduction of a
“Rooney Rule” to allow home-grown managers the chance to compete with
foreign imports in English football.
Allardyce will go head-to-head with one of the Premier League’s newest overseas recruits on Wednesday evening when German Jurgen Klopp brings his Liverpool side to the Stadium of Light, live on Sky Sports, on Wednesday.
Allardyce said: “The problem for me is we are denying British coaches positions in all divisions now, particularly in the top division and the Championship, and we need to do something about that.
“As a country, as the FA, as the Premier League, we need to protect the position of our own highly-qualified coaches who are not even getting an interview now.”

Naira Appreciates To N260/$1 Against Dollar At Parallel Market,
The Naira on Monday, December 28, fared well to about N260 to a dollar
on the parallel market, compared with about N266 to a dollar it was
before last week’s public holidays.
It was learnt that majority of the parallel market traders at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport and other areas around Ikeja attributed this to an increase in supply of the greenback from autonomous market sources, especially from Nigerians abroad who visited the country for the Christmas break.
The naira had depreciated to about N280 to the dollar about three weeks ago as a result of dollar scarcity that hit the market.
The interbank official forex market which was shut down for the yuletide is expected to be re-opened on January 4, 2016.

Forex Crisis: Why CBN Cannot Reverse ATM Card Ban Abroad
The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN has divulged that the decision of
Deposit Money Banks to place a restriction on the use of Automated
Teller Machine cards abroad on bank customers is due to scarcity of
foreign exchange.
According to The Punch, the Apex Bank further explained that it was in support of the restriction as it would assist in reducing the pressure on the naira.
Speaking with pressmen in Abuja, the Director, Monetary Policy Department, CBN, Mr. Moses Tule, stated that the restriction might continue until the country could increase its foreign exchange earnings.
“Given the level of current flow into the reserves, by the time we meet these priority areas, you will discover that people who are using their debit cards overseas for shopping can never be on the priority list,” he added.

“They were restrictions that Deposit Money Banks placed because they have to settle whatever transactions you make with your debit cards with their corresponding banks in foreign currency.
And if the banks do not have the foreign currency to do that, then you create a liability problem for them.”

With less than three days to the end of 2015 and the dawn of 2016, it
will not be possible to recall on the year without remembering the

schools and internally displaced persons’ camps, which killed thousands
of people.
It is believed that from 2009 to 2015, the insurgents ceased the lives of more than 30,000 innocent civilians. The Cable has compiled a list of Boko Haram attacks in 2015.

I Was About To Celebrate - Herrera
Manchester United midfielder, Ander
Herrera was ready to celebrate scoring the opener in the stalemate
against Chelsea, only for Courtois to pull off a brilliant save.
And Herrera who met Martial’s cross was shocked at the save Courtois pulled.
“I think I put my foot correctly,” Herrera told MUTV.
“I was in the right position. The cross of Anthony, I think, was very good, so I didn’t know if [Cesar] Azpilicueta touched the ball.
“I don’t know what happened, to be honest. I was going to celebrate it and then saw the ball was not in.”

Fani-Kayode Pens Open Letter To Buhari
Mr. President, as one of your most loyal and faithful subjects who has
nothing but the utmost respect for your person and your office I am
constrained to write you this open letter.
This is because there are a number of issues that I believe that it is important for you to clarify and to come clean on. I say this because some of your assertions of late are at best contradictory and at worst patently dishonest.
Whichever side of the political divide we are on I believe that we can all agree on one thing: that the prosecution of the war against terror is not something that any of us should play politics with.
This is especially so given the fact that human lives are at stake and the very existence of our nation is under threat. Like much of the rest of the world our country is going through hell at the hands of the jihadists and Islamist terrorists. There is no gainsaying that we must all come to terms with the fact that the Islamic State in the Levant (ISIL), Al Qaeda, the Taliban, Al Shabab, Boko Haram, Hamas and another group that the internationally-respected Global Terror Index has described as the ”Fulani militants” (aka Fulani herdsmen) are nothing but bloodthirsty murderers and the lowest form of life.
They are indeed the scum of the earth, the troublers of humanity and the vermin of hell. It is with this in mind that I urge you to take the war against terror far more seriously than you are doing and plead with you to stop passing the buck. Your penchant for blaming your failings in this regard on the previous administration is simply nauseating and it does not serve you well.
You continuously contradict yourself when it comes to this matter and frankly such flip flops are unworthy of the office that you presently occupy.
We your subjects look up to you for consistency, strength, unequivocal commitment, a firm resolve and the ”leadership from the front” that you promised during your presidential campaign in this war. We do not want and neither do we need doublespeak, lame excuses and buck passing.
Permit me to point out a few examples of your contradictory assertions and your buck passing in this short intervention. Initially you claimed that your predecessor in office President Goodluck Jonathan never bought any arms and that instead he squandered and stole all the money that was appropriated for the procurement of arms.
Yet when the British Minister of Defense visited you in the Presidential Villa the other day the story changed. You did a U-turn and gleefully told him and the wider world that President Jonathan bought arms with raw cash.
One wonders which story you shall come up with next and which one you will conjure up in the future. Kindly tell us what the position is: is it that Jonathan did not buy arms at all and stole all the money or is it that he used cash to buy arms? You cannot have it both ways. It is either one or the other.
Quite apart from your glaring doublespeak on this matter there was another issue which you ought to have raised with your highly esteemed and respected British guest.
You forgot to tell him that his was one of the countries that not only refused to sell weapons to us during the course of this bitter conflict but that also helped to impose and enforce the international arms embargo on our country even though we are at war.
This resulted in the unnecessary death of thousands of our people because we found it difficult to procure the weapons to protect them.
Your guest’s country insisted on towing the American line and doing this to us even though we were fighting a war against a relentless, well-motivated, well-funded and well-armed fighting force that Global Terror Index has described as the ”deadliest terrorist organization in the world”. One is forced to ask: with friends like this who needs enemies?
Given the fact that the embargo was in place one wonders how we were supposed to procure arms unless we did so with raw cash on the black market.
The alternative was to buy none at all, to do nothing and to allow Boko Haram to take Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu and Lagos. Perhaps that is precisely what your western friends and allies wanted but thankfully it never came to pass.
Despite the challenges and constraints President Jonathan faced, instead of losing any more ground, he rose to the occasion and retook no less than 22 local government areas and virtually pushed Boko Haram out of Nigeria. The only place that they occupied by the time the election took place was Sambisa forest.
Jonathan achieved all this with those arms that he bought with raw cash. This is apparently what you are now complaining about. Permit me to remind you that it is those same arms that Jonathan bought with raw cash that your army is still using till today.
Yet sadly since you were sworn in as President seven months ago you have lost some of those same local government areas that were earlier recovered and they are now back in the hands of the terrorists.
Despite this you keep telling the international community and the Nigerian people that we are ”making progress” in the war against terror.
As a matter of fact you went as far as to say that we had ”won the war” against Boko Haram and your Minister of Information, Mr. Lai Mohammed, echoed that grotesque mendacity and reiterated that sentiment by adding the words ”technically won” (whatever that may mean) to the equation.
Sadly, two days later, on Christmas day, in what can only be described as an eloquent response from the terrorists, scores of innocent civilians were killed by Boko Haram in Borno state and a whole community was burnt to the ground.
Again on Sunday 27th of December Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state, came under heavy attack from the terrorists. Yet again on Monday 28th December, in Adamawa state, Boko Haram launched a series of suicide bomb attacks in which at least fifty innocent civilians were killed. So much for having ”won the war against Boko Haram”, whether ”technically” or otherwise.
Instead of conceding that you had told the Nigerian people a pernicious lie, curiously the next thing that you did was to tell them that you would ”persuade Boko Haram to drop their arms”. One is compelled to ask: why would you have to persuade them to drop their arms if you had already defeated them and won the war against them?
In any case this would be the first time in the history of modern warfare that a sitting President has sought to destroy and defeat a vicious and relentless terrorist organization and win the war against terror simply with the awesome and devastating weapon of persuasion.
Perhaps you should recommend that same tactic to the Americans and the rest of the international community as an effective and credible weapon to adopt in their war against ISIL, Al Qaeda, Al Shabab, Hamas and all the other jihadist groups that plague the world.
Whilst you are at it perhaps you could also persuade Boko Haram to free the Chibok girls. It is disturbing to note that despite all your campaign promises and assurances that once you are elected President the girls would be rescued or returned, nothing has been done or heard about any of them ever since you were sworn in.
Worst still the Bring Back Our Girls Group, which was essentially an appendage of your election organization, together with its distinguished leaders and conveners, appear to have gone very quiet. I guess they are busy trying to persuade Boko Haram to drop their arms too.
The truth is that it is time for you to free yourself from your monumental delusions and to get real. Sadly you appear to be detached from reality.
Instead of fighting the war against terror you are making it worse by slaughtering one thousand Shia Muslims in Zaria on December 12th, locking up their leader Sheik Ibrahim El Zakzaky and opening yet another war front in our country.
The last thing that we need is for Hezbollah or the Iranian Republican Guard to rise to the occasion, take up the challenge, jump into the fray and decide to protect and avenge their Shia Muslim brothers and sisters in northern Nigeria.
Yet despite the reprehensible and indefensible actions of your military commanders in Zaria you have refused to show any remorse for what was undoubtedly a war crime against fellow Nigerians and you have not prosecuted the officers and military personnel that were involved in the butchery.
Instead the homes of the victims and those that share their Shia faith have been burnt to the ground in Zaria and their graves and burial sites have been dug up and desecrated.
Instead of fighting Boko Haram you are fighting and killing your own people. Worse still you have refused to defend our country. I say this because a few days ago the Cameroonian military invaded our country, violated our territorial integrity and savagely murdered over 70 innocent Nigerians in their village before burning it down.
Your government refused to acknowledge that this event even took place, despite the media reports. You did not console or express condolences to the families of the victims or retaliate against the Cameroonians.
You did not even warn them or demand an apology or reparations from them. This is heartless and shameful. It could not have happened under Jonathan, Obasanjo, Babangida, Shagari, Abacha, Abubakar, Shonekan, Mohammed, Balewa or indeed any other former Nigerian President or Head of State.
If any of them had been in power and the Cameroonians cultivated the effrontery to do such a thing there would have been consequences.
Yet you did nothing to avenge this affront or to defend our honor. What happened to the gallant and brave General Buhari that courageously led our troops into victory in Chad in the early 1980’s?
What happened to the honest and forthright man that we all admired and looked up to because of his military exploits in Chad?
What happened to the war hero that gave the Chadians a ”bloody nose” for daring to attack a Nigerian village and that almost took Ndjamena, the Chadian capital?
What happened to the man that proved to the Libyans and their Chadian proxies that Nigerians knew how to fight? It appears that you have changed and that you are no longer the man that you used to be.
Instead of being honest with our people you have insisted on selling them a dummy and telling them a lie. You refuse to tell the world that our military is terribly demoralized, our soldiers are suffering heavy casualties and are not being paid their salaries regularly and, worse of all, that you have failed to procure a single bullet or weapon for them to use in the last seven months since you came to power.
Instead of deploying all the power of the state against Boko Haram you have spent all your energy and resources trying to teach the former National Security Advisor, Colonel Sambo Dasuki, and all your other perceived enemies the lesson of their lives by misrepresenting them before the world, subjecting them to state-sponsored tyranny and the most insidious form of persecution, violating their human rights and lying to the world that they stole and shared money that was meant for the purchase of arms.
You have also misled and misinformed the Nigerian people about the rules and conventions that are applied when it comes to the administration of security funds and about the fact that it is the National Assembly alone that has the right to probe the use of such funds as part of their oversight functions.
To cap it all you have claimed you did not receive any benefit from the NSA ‘s office whilst Jonathan was in power. This is an assertion which we all know is, at best, questionable.
You must be mindful of the fact that God hates liars and He despises those that abuse power. You must remember that the more you scorn God’s counsel and mock His admonitions the more your errors will be made manifest and the more your people will suffer.
You must understand that any leader or government that is motivated by bitterness, fear, hate, vengeance and malice will eventually hit the rocks and crash like a pack of cards. You must appreciate the fact that God is watching and that He sees and knows all.
May the Lord have mercy on you and may He forgive you for your many sins and wicked ways. God bless Nigeria.

President Buhari Reduces Vehicles In Motorcade From 23 To 12
President Of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari has trimmed down the number of
vehicles in the presidential motorcade from 23 to 12, in a bid to reduce
the cost of governance, sources told Daily Trust.
It was however, learnt that Senate President Bukola Saraki and House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara continued to maintain 10 vehicles in their motorcade each while ministers have a maximum of four vehicles in their motorcade.
According to more findings, the former President Goodluck Jonathan maintained not less than 23 cars in his motorcade.
Recall, Buhari had on the eve of inaugurating his ministers last month, warned them to avoid large convoys, long protocol and retinue of aides.
Dr Chris Ngige, the minister of labour said the new administration would be “running a lean economy because we are going to block areas of leakages. Retinue of aides, protocol staff and large convoys of cars are things that will not fly in this administration.”
It was learnt that Buhari turned down a request by senior government officials to buy new cars worth N400 million, not long after he became president, stressing that he would use the ones left by the former president.

#DasukiGate: Those Convicted Will Go To Jail And Lose Properties – Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari has declared that all those found guilty in
the $2.1 billion arms deal scandal will lose all their properties to the
Federal Government, and then be sent to jail.
The President made this disclosure known during a recent interview with BBC Hausa on Thursday, December 24, 2015.
Addressing the falling economy of the country, Buhari said despite the dwindling prices of oil, certain precautions taken by the government will prevent revenue leakages.
The President made this disclosure known during a recent interview with BBC Hausa on Thursday, December 24, 2015.
Addressing the falling economy of the country, Buhari said despite the dwindling prices of oil, certain precautions taken by the government will prevent revenue leakages.
The president said: “Remember during the campaigns, we said Nigeria is facing three things and nobody disputed that assertion. Firstly; there was widespread insecurity, war in the North- East, while the country’s oil was being stolen at random in the South. Secondly, there is massive unemployment, 62 per cent of the nation’s population are youth from the age of 35 years downward; most of them are unemployed, including those who went to school and those who did not, that is a serious problem.
“Therefore, it has become necessary to restore peace and create employment. That is why we are returning to agriculture and mineral resources. Thirdly, bribery and corruption are basically suffocating the country. If we don’t kill these monsters, this country would go down.
“That is why those who stole monies meant for arms procurement and shared the fund among themselves are being arrested and are being shown documents, so that they would be asked to refund the money or face prosecution; we would use those documents to prove what they stole, collect all the assets acquired from the proceeds and then jail them.”
“It is generally believed that a fish begins to rot from the head; once the head is rotten, the whole body is also rotten. We have tried to remove all the heads of the organisations, and most of the lieutenants have been changed.Buhari also spoke on the mutiny of soldiers during the last administration
“A lot is happening in this government that people do not appear to understand; many per-manent secretaries of ministries have been changed; we used to have 42 ministers, now we have 36 because the Constitution requires that each state of the federation must have a minister; we used to have 42 ministries, now we have 24.
“Everybody knows Nigeria is not a poor country, we are rich, and we have human resources, the problem had been that leadership did not take seriously, curbing corrupt tendencies,” he said.
“At the local government level, almost everyone knows each other. It would be easy to identify those to give who would go into trading and how to get it back. It would be like a cooperative and we all know how it operates.
“Also, state governments would identify those who have capacity to employ more people and all we need to do is to empower them. Our people already know how to go about implementing these modalities to create employment for the citizens.”
“I want people to understand that after I settled down and got a good grasp of what the country was going through, we removed all the service chiefs and appointed new ones. We also undertook an investigation and found out how the monies meant for arms procurement were diverted and shared by officials in the last administration.
They sent the boys to the warfront without arms and ammunition, leading some of them to mutiny after which they were arrested and detained. We have been able to raise money and fund the war.
Go and ask the people of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa, how many of their local governments were under the control of insurgents? And how many are currently still under the insurgents. Maybe we would not win the war completely by the end of the month, but the insurgents have now resorted to putting on explosive vests on young children, mostly girls aged 15 and below and then sending them to markets, mosques and churches to detonate.
Boko Haram itself knows that the era of them taking over communities and local governments is over. If people would be fair to us, they would know that the Nigerian Army has basically met the deadline and are winning the war. You cannot find any significant number of Boko Haram members in Adamawa and Yobe, only maybe in about three local governments of Borno, in the area around our borders with Chad Republic. They are not in a position to threaten Nigeria now, so we have won” he said.

Mourinho Just Relaxing - Mendes
Jorge Mendes has made it known his client, Jose Mourinho is still in Brazil and yet to pick a club.
Mourinho was relieved of his duties by Chelsea after a string of losses saw them struggling with relegation.
Real Madrid are interested in getting him back, with United a possible fit.
But agent Jorge Mendes insists his client is yet to make a decision over his future, with a return to Italy – where he previously managed Inter – having also been mooted.
“Right now he’s in Brazil, we’ll see what happens when he gets back,” Mendes told Sky Sport.
“At the moment we haven’t been talking about England, Spain or Italy.
“He only needs to be calm and not worry about anything – he’s the best manager in the world.”

Klopp Patient With Sturridge
Irrespective of Daniel Sturridge tweeting on Saturday about how he is good to go, Jurgen Klopp will be careful with him.
Sturridge has dealt with injuries since last season and picked up his latest hamstring injury, that has sidelined him for four weeks.
And with Origi out with a hamstring injury of his own, Klopp will still not rush Sturridge’s return.
“This is absolutely the same thing that Daniel said four weeks ago,” Klopp told reporters.
“We let him play and he was injured again. He says this, you ask him and he says he’s good. I know he is good. But he has to train. We cannot change the situation. He has to train now.
“With him, last week and this week are most intensive weeks in training for Daniel Sturridge in the last three years. So now you can see what we have to do. We cannot say ‘Come on Daniel! Now you look good, so you can play!’
“I don’t want to see him (playing) in training. Everybody sees him training and they think ‘oh, come on, bring him into the team’ we need his quality!’ But no. We really, really have to be patient now, we have to wait.
“We have to train, we have to give the body the right information, and if he can do this, then maybe we can change something.”
Liverpool will be looking to build on their win over league leaders Leicester when they face Sunderland on Wednesday.

Fresh Explosion kills 20 In Maiduguri Mosque
Reports from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, say that Nigerian
troops are in battle with Boko Haram fighters, as a fresh explosion has
left at least 20 persons dead on Monday morning, December 28, as
residents gathered around a mosque.
According to Premium Times, the explosion sounded as residents speculated that a fleeing Boko Haram bomber abandoned an improvised explosive device in the area during Sunday night’s attack on the city.
A police officer, stated that the victims had gathered to investigate if a bomb was truly abandoned in the mosque.
“I have never seen such foolishness when people would go peeping into a mosque to find out if truly there was an explosive deposited in a place. But sadly, the bomb went off and over 20 persons were killed and many injured.”
However, a primary school teacher in the area, Malam Suleiman said otherwise.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that Boko Haram fighters arrived in the area at about 6pm on Sunday night, December 27, and then opened fire on villagers. The gunmen were then engaged in a serious shoot-out with soldiers.

“The people normally sit down around the mosque in the morning,” he said. ”The place is like a meeting point where neighbours converge to relax.”
“After the morning prayers they just sat down outside the mosque as usual and then the bomb went off. It was not suicide bombing like that of last night. It may have been planted.
“Many people died but I can’t give actual figure of the casualties”.

Leicester Must Recover - Ranieri
Leicester City fell to a 1-0 loss against Liverpool, and ahead of their clash against City, Ranieri has urged for progress.
Leicester tops the table despite their loss, thanks to Arsenal’s slipup.
But Ranieri has warned that moving past the loss is the only thing that’ll remedy it.
“It is in our mind, we have to recover,” he said.
“It is a question of forgetting this result, of accepting it and moving on.
“We knew we had to lose eventually, so we must forget. It is how we react mentally now.”

Nicki Minaj Asks Fans To Help Her Pick A Wedding Theme
Nicki Minaj posed an interesting question to her followers on Twitter that has left one too many eyebrows raised.
The pop star asked if her followers prefer a beach wedding or a church wedding. While that is a normal question that might be raised by a regular Twitter user account, for Nicki Omeeka Maraj Minaj, it is full of subliminal undertones.
Nicki Minaj has been dating fellow rapper, Meek Mill for a while now, with a hint of being engaged to each other, so this question has people wondering if the two are getting married already.
Earlier in December, Nicki Minaj announced an engagement to Meek Mill then denied on a Billboard interview. She also pulled another engagement hoax to the rapper earlier in the year.
That is not the end either – In 2010, Drake announced Nicki Minaj was now his wife, and Nicki went along with the hoax. Drake tweeted, “Please refer to @nickiminaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and dont stare at her too long. She’s finally mine. “.
It is not hard to see why fans are torn between believing this is real or another hoax.

January 1st FG To Reduce Fuel Price By 85naira
Minister of State for Petroleum , Dr Ibe Kachikwu during a tour of
the Port Harcourt refinery on Christmas Day said that the Federal
government is working to reduce the pump price of petrol to about 85 or
86 naira per litre by Jan 1st.
He said efforts were on to get the refinery to achieve 60 percent production capacity and to supply about 11 million liters of petrol daily.
He said efforts were on to get the refinery to achieve 60 percent production capacity and to supply about 11 million liters of petrol daily.
“If you look at the new PPPRA template that we developed and which I just signed off two days ago, when it is announced you will find out that for now ,and I use the emphatic word of the President for now, the price of the refined product will actually be lower than 87 naira, It will be 85. We will probably announce that in January if the prices hold.
“Like I said, we have done a modulation calculation and it is showing us below N87. I imagine that if PPPRA publishes it today, it will become effective immediately. But the 1st of January that is when we are looking at.”
“What that does for you is that its modulating. If it goes up you move up, if it comes down you come down. So we take away the fact of having to go find funds to pay for these subsidies that we cannot afford.
“More importantly we try to be as close to the pump price that we have now as possible,” he said.

I Was Right Not To Sign A Striker - Wenger
Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger says his decision not to sign any striker was well thought out.
Wenger was rumoured to be quite interested in Benzema last season, but the manager denied the links.
And with Giroud getting back into form, Wenger says his decision was well vindicated.
“I could not understand the frustration of the fans,” he told reporters.
“We had Giroud, but we also had Theo Walcott who I believe is a world-class striker, we had Alexis Sanchez who is a world-class striker, and we had Danny Welbeck who is a world-class striker.
“You have to spend a huge amount of money to improve on that four. Giroud has the confidence. I have said that many times. He has the mental stature to play in this position.”

But Flores says Watford are ready to face a Chelsea side eager to please Hiddink.
“Of course when a club changes their manager, the players need to show for the new manager their skill, power and energy,” said Flores.
“We are ready to face this experience, we know they will try to look like a very tough team. Of course we are expecting a tough game because they play well, they have experience, [and] a lot of quality.
“Normally you might analyse the three games before, but when they change [manager] it’s not valid what you analyse under one coach.
“For us it is not valid what we know about the Chelsea of Jose Mourinho, for us it’s important to know what happened against Sunderland because they are the first lines of Hiddink.
“That’s what we can analyse, nothing more. We know that we have had a good run, but the feeling within the dressing room with the players is that it is no surprise for us.
“I am really happy with that [attitude], it is a very strong mentality.”
Flores admits it’ll be impossible to decipher the squad Chelsea will deploy with Hiddink now in charge.

Hodgson Worried Of Outstaying His Welcome
Roy Hodgson the England manager, has
stated he doesn’t want to outstay his welcome as the Three Lions' boss, despite stating
he wants to remain till 2018.
Hodgson’s contract expires after the Euro 2016, but the 69-year old wants to stay.
Hoping the Football Association still think he is the right man for the job, Hodgson will like to stay.
“If we’re going to discuss any extension to my contract, which actually runs out in the summer, I’d have to sit down and talk quite seriously to them [the FA] and find out exactly what they have in mind,” Hodgson told Sky Sports News.
“Most important of all, I’d want to know that I was welcome. One of the things which has always bothered me is that you can outstay your welcome at places and sometimes it’s better not to do that.
“However, having said that, I have got to also say that it is a really exciting time at the moment, especially with so many young players. We have spent quite a lot of time with these players and we really do believe they have great potential, so when the day comes for me to turn my back on it I will miss them, that’s for sure.
“I’ve been pleased to have constantly had the opportunity to carry on working [as a manager] and it’s very difficult, quite honestly, to contemplate a moment when I won’t be doing it. I know that day will arrive, but I’m certainly happy enough to put it off as long as possible.”
Everton midfielder Ross Barkley is among the young English players to have flourished for club and country this season.
“There’s no doubt he’s improving all the time, he’s maturing all the time,” added Hodgson.
“I know [Everton manager] Roberto Martinez believes in him strongly. He wasn’t someone who was certain to start every game, someone around whom a team was being built, but this season I see a totally different situation. I see Roberto playing him in every game, I see him taking more and more responsibility.
“He’s dropping deeper sometimes in midfield and playing more as an all-round midfield player, rather than a second striker or an attacking midfielder behind a lone striker, and these are things which can only be very good for his development.”

Tottenham Must Qualify For UCL -Hoddle
Tottenham icon Glenn Hoddle says he sees no reason why the club shouldn’t qualify for UCL football.
Tottenham currently sit fourth on the table due to first half exploits that has seen them concede just 14 goals.
Youngsters like Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Harry Kane have buoyed Tottenham to the position it is in.
“I think [Spurs are] a good example but if every team played with youngsters … it would become a development league,” he told Omnisport.
“You learn from experienced players around you and playing against experience. If every team played just youngsters, the quality would go down. So it’s all the experienced players that will bring on those youngsters.
“But they’ve got a batch of really good youngsters that are working hard for each other. It’s a great year for Tottenham in the sense that so many teams have been inconsistent, and that door for the top four is wide open.
“They probably thought they’d have to build for two or three seasons. Now is the time for Spurs. It’s a big season for them to jump into that top four.
“Whether they can stay in that top four for years to come with that squad remains to be seen but I think it’s a great opportunity, one that they didn’t think was going to happen.”
