Mourinho To Take Pay Cut To Work At Manchester United

It is an open secret that Jose Mourinho has been courting Manchester United following his sacking as Chelsea manager. While the club have made no sort of move for the Portuguese despite it looking more likely that Louis Van Gaal would be fired, Manchester United fans have flirted back with Mourinho.
Mourinho would obviously have been made aware that he might have to take a massive pay cut if he is going to step in as Manchester United manager if (or should we say when) Louis Van Gaal is sacked. When Mourinho resumed as Chelsea manager he was set to earn 9 million pounds a year as Chelsea manager but at the end of last season, Mourinho extended his contract with the London club which saw his salary increased to a whopping 12 million pounds a year, making him the highest manager in the world. At the time the self-proclaimed special one signed the extension, no one could have envisaged the events of this season. And following an abysmal performance that included nine losses this season, Chelsea’s board finally decided to release Mourinho back into the job market. The former Real Madrid manager immediately turned his sights on Manchester United but the Manchester outfit currently pays Van Gaal 6 million pounds a year (and he honestly isn’t earning that salary). Mourinho would know that Manchester United can do better but would not match his most recent pay package especially as he comes to the club with a bruised reputation.
Knowing Mourinho and his desire to do better than Chelsea in the league, Mourinho would gladly take the pay cut now
