Reports from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, say that the members of
the deadly Boko Haram sect attacked the Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation filling station last night, December 27, with at least 35
people dead, while 50 others were injured.
According to Sahara Reporters, the insurgents arrived Molai road on vehicles and opened fire at motorists queuing for petrol.
One of the witnesses said: “They attacked a beer parlor deep down Polo
area that by proxy is closer to Jiddari and Molai… Istifanus was some
chap we know, went to shack a couple of bottles as per holidays…. Now
he’s dead.”
While details are still sketchy SR disclosed that the terrorists killed at least 35 people, while 50 others were injured.
The attack is coming just days after Buhari said Nigeria has “technically” defeated the Boko Haram sect.
