It took The Force Awakens 12 days to cross the nine-zero mark, beating the record of 13 days set by Jurassic World in June.
The record is even more amazing when you consider that The Force Awakens hasn’t opened in China — the world’s second biggest market — yet.
Other records that have been set by The Force Awakens include biggest Christmas Day gross ever with $49.3 million, and biggest second-weekend gross ever with $153.5 million.
