Allegri has leapt to the defence of Rafael Benitez, saying managing Real Madrid is not easy.
Benitez has come under immense criticism at the Bernabeu after the loss to Barcelona and the tragic exit from the copa del rey for fielding an illegible player.
Allegri has now backed the embattled Benitez to be a success at the capital club.
“Working for Real Madrid isn’t easy. Benitez did really well at Napoli and I’m convinced that Real Madrid will do well with him,” he said at his pre-match media conference.
“For the Copa del Rey, Real Madrid had a communication error and they’re out of the competition. This can happen.”
Juve have already clinched a place in the knockout stages of the competition but has urged his side not to let their standards slip when they face Sevilla.
Last season’s beaten finalists know a draw or a sixth straight win in all competitions will secure them top spot in Group D but with a crucial league clash against second-placed Fiorentina to come on Sunday, Allegri is demanding his players remain focused.
“There is absolutely no way we’ll be thinking about Fiorentina. All of our focus is on Sevilla,” he said.
“We want to maintain our unbeaten run in Champions League Group D and avoid a tougher last-16 draw.
“Compared to last year’s group stage, we’ve enjoyed a better Champions League this time around. It’s important to remain unbeaten.”
