It was gathered that armed soldiers backed by armoured personnel
carriers were deployed in the area to complement the police and other
sister agencies on ground.
Bear in mind, the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate had so far garnered a total of 81, 929 votes, while his closest rival, Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress got a total of 56, 514 votes.
Results were still being awaited from Nembe, Southern Ijaw, and Ogbia local government areas.
Meanwhile,
anxiety has griped the people of Bayelsa over the expected results from
Nembe and Southern Ijaw local government areas.
It is also
expected that the result from Southern Ijaw might determine the winner
of the gubernatorial race as there are slim margin between the PDP and
APC candidates.
