Governor Seriake Dickson, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP), takes the lead in the Bayelsa State governorship election,
according to results announced so far by the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday, December 6, 2015.
Mr. Dickson, it was learnt, won in four of the five local government areas announced on Sunday by INEC.
The PDP’s gubernatorial candidate has so far garnered a total of 81, 929 votes, while his closest rival, Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress got a total of 56, 51 votes.
It was learnt that results were still being awaited from Nembe, Southern Ijaw, and Ogbia local government areas.
INEC disclosed yesterday that the announcement of the remaining results would commence at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 7, 2015.
