Erykah Badu has apologized to rapper Iggy Azalea for dissing her during the 2015 Soul Train Awards
Badu had hosted the awards, and during her opening monologue, had dissed Iggy, saying what she did was not rap.
Iggy didn’t put too much on the diss, responding on Twitter: “We are
days from 2016, but I came online today and saw its [sic] still cool to
try and discredit my 2014 accomplishments.”
Erykah however
apologised for the jab during a Twitter Q&A session on Monday, after
a fan asked for the reason behind the diss.
“I wanna do this for my daughters, I wanna apologize to Iggy Azalea
because she’s one of their favorite artists, and they listen to her all
the time,” Badu said in a video she tweeted Tuesday. “It’s for them.”
Then
she added, “But when I really think about it, if y’all love her so
much, why don’t you be with her then? Go on, be with her y’all.”
